SwiSSA is a Students association at Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary, founded in 2010 by Andrew Megally, who studied Dentistry at Semmelweis at the time.
Its aim is to unite swiss students at Semmelweis University. By the term "swiss" we do not explicitly mean the nationality, but rather a general relationship to Switzerland as place of living, its languages, food and culture.
SwiSSA organises events for its members so that they can meet, speak their mother tongue, fight homesickness with swiss food and exchange tips and tricks about how and which hospitals to chose for internships and rotations.
SwiSSA also aims to generally help Semmelweis Students to get internships in Swiss hospitals and clinics.
Since Summer 2020, SwiSSA is co-presidented by Jessica Donnet and Aryand Shabestary. They both come from la Romandie - the french speaking part of Switzerland.
SwiSSA takes part in different events inside and outside of Semmelweis Universtity. Due to the pandemic the number of recent events is rather low, but we are hopeful that this will soon come to an end.
The members of SwiSSA followed the kind invitation of Ambassador Jean-François Paroz and Dr. Yulia Gusynina Paroz
SwiSSA represented the Swiss kitchen by serving some typical Swiss Food, including fondue, sausages and chocolate.
SwiSSA is proud to have a good relation with the Swiss Embassy in Budapest. You can find the contact information below:
